What are the implications of being a church called "St. Paul's"? Who was Paul, and what do his life and teachings say about who our church is called to be? What does Paul's life and example teach us about who we are called to be as individuals?
The Methodist pastor and author Adam Hamilton writes that the aim of his new book The Call: The Life and Message of The Apostle Paul is "to help modern-day Christians deepen their own faith and answer God's call upon their lives by studying Paul's life, story, and call." I hope that, by studying this book together, we can also deepen our sense of the life of our church by better understanding our namesake.
I hope you'll join me for this enriching six-week study beginning on April 27 during our Wednesday night "Service, Supper, & Substance" (#S3atStP). The book study is accompanied by a DVD that will take us on "a video journey of the lands where Paul traveled, preach, suffered, and triumphed."
Please sign up for the study by clicking here, or by emailing me at . The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, April 20. We appreciate each person giving a $16 suggested donation to cover the cost of the book.
