Over the last few years, St. Paul's has built a relationship with the native people of the Grand Bayou Community as we have worked with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana to help restore the Lemon Tree Site, an ancient and sacred site for the community. And we have learned that this community suffered greatly during Hurricane Ida. Please join us as we support the recovery of this community by collecting rebuilding supplies. You can find the list of needed items here. Use the list and the time to personally shop with family and children to help understand and discuss the need or struggle that the Grand Bayou community is going through. Most of the needed items can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot for approximately $75.00. If you are able, please consider adding any of the specially requested items to your donation. You are encouraged to purchase whatever you are able. If you are unable to shop in person, please consider making a monetary donation to our Hurricane Ida Relief Fund and someone will do the shopping for you.
Drop off your bucket or donation to Christ Church Cathedral at church on Sunday morning or at the front office, Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:00 PM (2919 St. Charles Ave, wooden door closest to 6th Street)
If you are interested in volunteering to help build buckets, transport down to the Grand Bayou Community, or if you have any questions, please contact Betsy Stoner at
